Accessibility Statement
Last updated 2026-05-22
This statement applies to Familycalendar. We aim to deliver a service that as many people as possible can use, including with assistive technologies.
Compliance status
The service partially conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Our goal under EU directive 2016/2102 and the European Accessibility Act is full conformance.
Non-accessible content
The following parts are not yet fully accessible:
- Calendar members are distinguished mainly by colour. The member name is also shown next to each event, but colour contrast may be limited for some palette combinations for users with colour-vision differences (WCAG 1.4.1).
- Some decorative illustrations (the Bedrock characters in the onboarding wizard) are not fully tagged with aria-hidden where intended. Functionality does not depend on the illustrations.
- Form errors are announced visually. Screen-reader support relies on aria-live regions, but not every error case is yet announced optimally (WCAG 4.1.3).
- The onboarding memo cards use a small visual rotation. This does not affect usability, but prefers-reduced-motion support is limited in some parts.
We are committed to fixing these gaps progressively, prioritising based on user feedback and impact.
How this statement was prepared
This statement is based on a self-evaluation by the service provider, using WCAG 2.1 criteria and in-browser tools (Lighthouse, axe DevTools). We update the statement at least annually and when material changes are made.
